What we collect through this site, why, and the control you have over it.

This policy explains what personal information Sirotics collects through this website, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Sirotics is a product innovation consultancy based in London. For the purposes of data protection law, Sirotics is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

The information we collect

Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we collect the details you choose to provide: your name, company, email address, project timeline, budget range, the areas you are interested in, and your message. Only your name, email and message are required; the rest are optional.

Information collected automatically. When an enquiry is submitted, we record the date, time and the IP address the enquiry came from, to help prevent abuse of the form. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses and requested pages) as part of running the service securely.

This site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy for detail.

How we use your information, and our legal basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible engagement. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in protecting the website and the people who use it.
  • To keep records of business enquiries and correspondence. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests in running the business and, where relevant, complying with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:

  • IONOS — our web hosting and email provider. Enquiries are stored on, and delivered through, IONOS infrastructure.
  • Google — the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those font files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. It is not used by us to identify you.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations, so that your information keeps a similar level of protection.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards as a business record, after which it is deleted. Server and security logs are kept only for a short period. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, just ask.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • be told how your information is used (this policy);
  • access a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information erased in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to how we process it;
  • data portability, where it applies.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including serving the whole site over HTTPS and restricting access to stored enquiries. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data once we have it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
